Latest Epitrix update:

Consultation on strengthened protection against Epitrix

Following recent consultation, an update on the controls against Epitrix have been announced.

The Scottish Government has followed Defra advice by announcing plans to legislate for requirements for all potatoes imported from mainland Spain (exempting the Balearic Islands) to be washed before being exported into Scotland. Scottish stakeholders were supportive of additional measures requiring all potatoes imported from mainland Spain (exempting the Balearic Islands) to be washed before exported to Scotland. Similar arrangements are being carried out by Defra and the Devolved Authorities.
