25 May 2016

Joshua is a Fieldsman at Ibbotson’s Produce along with coordinating the Colton Potato Grower McCain Group, based in North Yorkshire.

In Joshua's current role, his primary responsibilities include coordinating tonnage for the Colton group growers alongside monitoring and sourcing high quality stock destined for the pack house.

Joshua has a number of qualifications, including a National Diploma in Agriculture, a Degree in Science in Agriculture and completed a BASIS Soil and Water Management course.

At Harper Adams University he studied Agriculture with a keen focus on potatoes, and as a placement student for 18 months with Cooperative Farms, developed his knowledge and experience in agronomy, storage, crop husbandry and quality and grading.

Outside of work he is an active member of Amotherby Young Farmers, helping to judge competitions, and take part in and organise social events, industry tours and visits.

'Whilst my current and previous roles have helped me to understand the scale of the industry, by being part of the Next Generation Programme I hope to network and develop my interaction with new & old candidates within the industry, and strengthen my knowledge and experience in those remaining sectors I have little or no exposure to.

I'd like to take advantage of any opportunities to discuss business development ideas and explore topics that I believe are important. Climate change and environmental impacts, sustainability and food security are all areas I am passionate about debating with my peers and developing my knowledge on.'
