Terms of Reference

As of 15 January, 2015 the group adopted the new name 'Nematicide Stewardship Programme' (NSP).
This provides clarity for those activities that were started under the auspices of the Soil Pest Management Initiative (SPMI) including: soils/proficiency testing work.

The overall aim of the Initiative is to address challenges related to the sustainable control of nematodes and other soil pests including standardisation of soil sampling and laboratory testing and to stimulate cross-industry collaboration in order to develop best practice stewardship solutions to:
  • preserve the land available to grow potatoes and other arable and horticultural crops
  • protect the availability of key plant protection products
