Markets were on the whole flat this week, with demand largely unchanged. Attention has shifted over to the quality of stored crops, which were largely holding well.

  • Trade in the English packing market was steady for most with reasonable tonnages being moved. However, there were scattered reports of stronger trade being seen in some regions.
  • Demand was largely unchanged on the week, with the Scottish packing market remaining stable. There were reports of strong demand being seen for K Edward, largely driven by promotions.

  • For most regions, trade remained steady in the bag market with supply exceeding demand.
