Establishment of best agronomic practice towards minimising pesticide residues on herbs and speciality produce

Summary

The aim of this project is to use all reliable available information (government usage data, government and industry monitoring data), together with usage and residue information supplied by several key experienced growers, to target the 3 or 4 most problematic actives (in terms of leaving the highest residue levels). Realistic trials involving normal commercial spraying practices can then be designed and undertaken in a second phase project involving the most sensitive species/pesticide combinations so that best agricultural practices can be scientifically established resulting in the reduction of residue levels in the final marketed produce.
