The Spotted Wing Drosophila Working Group

Following the arrival of spotted wing drosophila in the UK, the UK Government’s Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) consulted with the UK fruit industry over the best way of managing the pest and its control. It was decided to set up the Spotted Wing Drosophila Working Group to include growers, marketing agents, scientists and industry bodies. The group is chaired by fruit grower Harriet Duncalfe and administered by AHDB. Its purpose is to share information on the spread and damage caused by the pest, management and control methods and any other relevant issues.
