Strategic Potato (SPot) Farms were part of AHDB's Farm Excellence network. 

Trials and small-plot demonstrations were carried out across a network of farms. Some of the work focussed on local challenges identified by the host farmer. In other cases, the farms hosted national multi-site trials that took place across the network. For example, desiccation work in 2019 involved replicated trials at six sites across Britain -  four of the sites were SPot Farms, where growers and agronomists were able to track progress at open days and field walks.
