Lupin anthracnose

This factsheet describes the sources and spread of the pathogen, the plant symptoms to look out for and the integrated control measures to be adopted to deal with lupin anthracnose.  These include: 

  • Use only high quality seed and seek information on any applied seed dressing treatments
  • Monitor crops regularly for evidence of infection and dispose of affected plants promptly 
  • Reduce the risk of severe disease outbreaks by keeping the crop foliage as dry as possible
  • Fungicides are most effective against Colletotrichum when used in a preventative programme
